Student Intern

Summary
Student Intern will assist with special projects as directed by the Agency Operations Manager. Projects may include the research, organization, and reporting of data related to agency measures; tasks associated with agency operations; assistance with the development and deployment of marketing materials and plans. The agency requires that the student intern model honesty, teamwork, professionalism and a strong work ethic.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, prepare and organize monthly agency measures reports.
  • Research and report on client payment issues.
  • Research potential office equipment acquisitions.
  • Research, provide suggestions for and oversee purchasing of agency marketing and promotional items.
  • Organize, develop, implement and deliver marketing plans and materials.
  • Research and report findings related to policy terms, conditions and coverage.
  • Assist in the creation of agency documents, including custom form letters, applications and proposals.
  • Prepare and complete client and prospect mailings.
  • Assist in scanning and filing of documents.
  • Organize and maintain office supplies and materials.
  • Maintain accurate data in information management systems in a timely manner.
  • Maintain files, office environment, and information management systems in an orderly, up-to-date manner.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Attributes of a Successful Applicant

  • High school upperclassman or current college student seeking a degree in business, insurance, finance or similar.
  • Professional, polite and able to communicate clearly, concisely, in a business-like manner.
  • Self-starter; imaginative and creative with good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and experience using an integrated database program such as The Agency Manager (TAM.)
  • Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multiple tasking environment.
